National Project Concepts to Strengthen Agritourism Linkages
The IICA Caribbean Agritourism Network sees significant opportunities for building out agritourism linkages and experiences in the region. To further this objective, in 2019, IICA partnered with the former ACP-EU Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA) to host national multi-stakeholder workshops in selected countries aimed at developing inter-sectoral policies and projects to strengthen linkages between tourism and the local agri-food sectors to ultimately lead to improved livelihoods and income of local farmers, rural dwellers and value chain actors.
Here, we present three Country Project Proposal Briefs which emanated from the IICA-CTA Agritourism Linkages Workshops in Jamaica, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and Suriname. Full proposals can be provided on request. IICA and the countries are looking for partners to turn these concepts into reality.
